How Does It Work?
All the animals in our rescue program have been
through some type of turmoil. Many excellent pets simply end up
in shelters because of over-breeding. Therefore, it is up to the
rescuers to find the best "forever" home for each animal
in our care. Sometimes, we end up with several people interested
in the same dog. Please note, we can't make everyone happy. Please
keep this in mind when applying for adoption.
- All prospective adopters must complete our online
Adoption Application.
- Once we receive a completed application we will contact
scheduled a home visit. Note it takes a while to find a volunteer
in your area qualified to do home check.
- After the home visit is completed, we will contact you to set
up an appointment to come and meet the dog(s). Remember, you may
not be the only applicant interested in a particular
dog(s).
- Before coming to meet and possibly to adopt a little angel,
please first read over our Adoption
Contract. Print off a copy to bring with you.
- If you decide to adopt a little angel, you will be asked to
complete and sign our Adoption
Contract and make a financial donation.
All the dogs listed on our Petfinder
web site are available for adoption unless marked PENDING or ADOPTED.
If you are interested in any of them, or would like to be placed on
our waiting list for a particular breed, please click here to complete
our Adoption
Application. If you are not able to adopt a dog at this time,
please consider fostering.
Why Is There An Adoption Donation?
All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, heartworm tested, up to date
with shots, and evaluated before they are placed. The adoption donation
covers all food, medical and related expenses. Without these donations
it would not be possible for our volunteers to continue saving other
dogs in real need.
Why Sheltercare Pet Insurance?
We strongly encourage all adopters to enroll in the 2 FREE months
of Sheltercare Pet Insurance provided by Petfinder within 10 days
of adoption.
