Our organization is made up of committed individuals
who believe all animals should be treated with respect and love.
Your help saves the lives of dogs in real need. The more you volunteer,
the more we dogs we can save together.
Please help where and whenever you are able -- all assistance is
welcomed. Little Angels Rescue is in need of volunteers in all areas
of the state to assist with us with the following:
- Home visits
- Interstate transports
- Transport coordination
- Events & fundraising
- Miscellaneous dog-related assignments
- Donated Foods and other supplies
- Foster homes
- Website maintenance & related assignments
Little Angels Rescue is careful to ensure the dogs we place in
homes are in the very best homes we can find. It is vital to have
a home visit done prior to adoption and the lack of these volunteers
can drastically slow down the adoption process. We provide Home
Visit Volunteers with guidelines and a home visit report that is
completed. This information helps us to make sure we have the data
we need to make an informed decision.
We routinely need people to help get dogs transported from different
areas of the state to Little Angels Rescue and have an even greater
need for foster homes in Florida.
Another
area where we need good, dependable help is in arranging our transports.
This is a critical area that needs someone that is good with communicating
via e-mail, organized and available to stay on top of a transport
event on the day it is happening to be the “go-to” in
case of emergency (i.e. “I’m early, I’m late,
who am I meeting and where – I lost my paper with all my notes”)…
This is not a full-time job, but when a transport is being arranged
or in process, it requires someone that can really pay attention
to the event.
An area we need help in is with Dog Assignments (DA). A DA Volunteer
is assigned a dog (more if they can handle the work load). They
receive all the applications for the dog, review (pre-screen), find
volunteers to conduct the home visits, coordinate the home visits
(make sure they get done in a timely manner), forward the home visit
reports to the board, and communicate with the applicants regarding
home visits, our process, the status of their application.
There are several web sites where our available dogs are posted.
We need help in keeping these web sites up to date. We need individuals
with advanced computer skills to assist us in keeping our web data
current. Please fill out our
Volunteer Application if you can help.
If you are interested in fostering, complete the Foster
Application. Learn more about our foster programs by visiting
Foster Care. Foster homes are especially
needed in DeSoto, Charlotte, Lee and Sarasota counties.
Little Angels Rescue is also looking for individual or business
sponsors. If you would like to become a sponsor, please fill out
our Sponsor Form. For more information,
